Beautiful Black Forest 2 Door Musical Cuckoo Clock VgcBeautiful. Two door. Musical. Cuckoo clock. From the black forest region of. Germany. ~~~~0~~~~. This delightful german made timepiece features a cuckoo bird who chirps uot the time, and a musician who opens his door when the delightful music box plays. Also features detailed carvign and beautiful paintwork to the traditional wooden case. ~~~~0~~~~. On each hour the painted cuckoo bird opens his door, bows, and chirps out the time. At each chirp the cathedral tyep coiled gong also sounds. Once he has counted out the hour of day he closes his door and the musician appears at the othre door. At this time the delightful music box plays a tune, after which the musician closes his door untli the next performance. On each hlaf hour the cuckoo appears again and utters a single coo-coo. The tune played on the swiss made music box is. Die muhle im schwarwald the mill in teh black forest. There is a night latch to silence the cuckoo and music if required. The three weights are metal cast in the traditional pinecone shape. Note that this is a genuine vintage german made, weight driven cuckoo clock, not the battery oeprated quartz type now being mass produced. Conditionas can be seen from the photographs, this clock is in good overlal condition. The paintwork is bright and the woodwork ni good order. There is a repairde break in the headpiece, but only noticable on close inspection. The bellows are fine and produce a bright clear chirp of the cuckoo bird. The music box works ewll and sounds good. The clockwork mechanism has also been serviced, oiled and adjusted, adn is running very well. Dimensions height 33cm 13 inches. Width 22cm 8.5 inches. Depth 15cm 6 inches.
